Week 2: Observtion of Opera House

From the research, I found that the parts of Opera House was influence by a lot
of different cultures. For example, the simple opposition of weightless shells above a
massive earthbound podium makes one think of the creative interplay of ying and
yang. So I do the search for artists and architect based on the cultural issue.
This is a drawing from Glenn Murcutt, an Australian architect. It is Marika Alderton House, a house built for Aboriginal community and was based on their culture or way of life.
This is an artwork from Michel T. The major categories of this work are the two big eyes and the French background. This shows the typical lifestyle in French.

This is a work from Albert Namatjira. It is a picture of central Australia landscape. Namatjira, in his work, always managed to capture the colour of Australia landscape.

From all of the drawing above, my interpretation is the way the artists and architect play with the line and tone to make a more 3 dimensional drawing.
